DENTAL HYGIENE AND YOUR OVERALL HEALTH

Oral health and overall health are connected. Research has linked gum disease and periodontitis, with serious health concerns such as heart disease and stroke. Periodontitis may also contribute to premature births, low birth weight, pancreatic cancer, high blood sugar levels and even bacterial pneumonia.

A daily routine teeth cleaning (brushing, flossing and rinsing) removes plaque and debris from teeth resulting in reduced incidence of cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease. Regular professional dental cleanings performed by a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) removes the hardened calculus (tartar) that cannot be removed by simply following a daily routine of teeth cleaning.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE YOUR TEETH PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED?

It is recommended having teeth professionally cleaned every six months. More frequent cleaning may be recommended depending on your oral hygiene needs.

At Battell Denture Clinic our Registered Dental Hygienist is committed to providing high-quality dental hygiene and services for adults, seniors and children at an affordable cost.
